At Westway Auto Body in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, auto body repair insurance claims are handled efficiently and quickly, to expedite the return of each vehicle to a satisfied customer. We’ve been working with insurance companies since 1976, and we know all the “ins and outs” of the insurance claims process. We’ve worked with every major insurance company around, and with most smaller insurers.

Westway Has the Insurance Claims Experience You Need

Take advantage of our experience when you’re facing the insurance claims process. We know that it’s stressful enough to have been in an accident, and that you’ve probably got other issues to deal with besides your vehicle’s damage.

When you bring your car, truck or SUV to Westway, we’ll give you all the advice you need to get your insurance claim on its way so that you can get your vehicle repaired and back in service as soon as possible.

If you’re unsure of whether you are required to notify your insurance company of the accident that caused your vehicle’s damage, the answer is “yes”—your insurance policy requires you to notify your insurer about the accident as soon as possible after it occurs, and to tell them where your damaged vehicle can be inspected.

Your Rights as the Vehicle’s Owner

You also have the right to have your vehicle repaired at any facility that you choose, regardless of which company provides your insurance. Sometimes an insurance company will tell customers that they have to take their vehicles to one of the insurance company’s “preferred shops,” but this is not only false—it’s against the law to make that demand.

In addition, some insurance companies suggest that you take your damaged vehicle to their claims center before you have it repaired, but you should know that you do not have to do this; you can bring your vehicle directly to Westway and ask your insurance company to send their claims adjuster to inspect it at our facility.

You should also know that you’re required to obtain only one repair estimate under state law.

If you’re having any trouble with your insurance company, you can contact Wisconsin’s Office of the Commissioner of Insurance (OCI), which regulates insurers. The OCI also provides helpful consumer publications regarding auto insurance.
